"My mother was a seamstress and I grew up watching her at her sewing machine working for hours on end. She made my clothes when I was a little girl and sometimes sewed the same dresses for herself to make us look like twins. She was only 53 years old when she passed away of cancer.

I was living in the US already when she became ill and she asked to see me. Little did I know it would be my last time. I booked my flight and told her that I would be there in 5 days. She counted the numbers out loud, "1, 2, 3, 4, 5". To that time I didn't know that she counted these days out loud to collect all of her energy to stay alive until I got there. She passed away in my arms eight hours after I stepped into her bedroom.

The more I was getting closer to her age when she passed the more I felt the need to express myself in connection with her. The thought of bringing fashion and my art together evolved out of this wish." -- Jenny Simon

This fashion line was created in memory of Jenny Simon's mother. Partial proceeds support cancer research programs.
